Smirnov‡ International Center for Theoretical Physics, 34100 Trieste, Italy We calculate the range of predicted values for 10 quantities that will be measured by the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO). We use neutrino oscillation solutions (vacuum and MSW; active and sterile neutrinos) that are globally consistent with all available neutrino data and estimate realistic theoretical and experimental uncertainties. The neutral current to charged current double ratio is predicted to be more than 9σ from the no-oscillation solution for all of the currently favored neutrino oscillation solutions. The best-fit oscillation solutions predict a CC day-night rate difference between −0.1% and +12.5% and a NC day-night difference < 0.01%. We present also the predicted range for the first and the second moments of the charged current electron recoil energy spectrum, the charged current, the neutral current, and the ν-e scattering rates, the seasonal dependence of the charged current rate, and the double ratio of neutrino-electron scattering rate to charged current rate.

Correlations of solar neutrino observables for SNO
Neutrino oscillation scenarios predict correlations, and zones of avoidance, among measurable quantities such as spectral energy distortions, total fluxes, time dependences, and flavor content. The comparison of observed and predicted correlations will enhance the diagnostic power of solar neutrino experiments. A general test of all presently allowed (2n) oscillation solutions is that future me...
متن کاملNon standard analysis of the solar neutrino anomaly ( updated including the first data from SNO ∗ ) Riccardo Barbieri
Continuing previous work, a model independent analysis of the solar neutrino anomaly is performed in terms of neutrino oscillations, allowing a comparison with the predictions of the Standard Solar Model. SMA and LMA solutions emerge also in this case, although somewhat different from the standard ones. The significance of the NC/CC double ratio measurable in SNO is illustrated in this context.

Possibilities of a model independent treatment of the data from future real-time solar neutrino experiments (SNO, Super-Kamiokande and others) are discussed. It is shown that in the general case of transitions of the initial solar e 's into and/or the total flux of initial 8 B neutrinos and the e survival probability can be determined directly from the experimental data. Lower bounds for the pr...
متن کاملSelective Detection of Formaldehyde Gas Using a Cd-Doped TiO2-SnO2 Sensor
We report the microstructure and gas-sensing properties of a nonequilibrium TiO(2)-SnO(2) solid solution prepared by the sol-gel method. In particular, we focus on the effect of Cd doping on the sensing behavior of the TiO(2)-SnO(2) sensor. Of all volatile organic compound gases examined, the sensor with Cd doping exhibits exclusive selectivity as well as high sensitivity to formaldehyde, a mai...
